Description

One of four prints illustrating four HC category climbs from Le Tour de France 2017.
The diagonal illustrates the 7.3% gradient of the climb from it’s starting point above sea level to the summit. Like a scene from the Wild West – Col d’Izoard, a summit finish of the Tour de France for the first time.
Hors Catégorie (HC) is a term used in stage bicycle races to designate a climb that is “beyond categorisation”. The term was originally used for those mountain roads where cars were not expected to be able to pass.
