Description
Second of four prints illustrating four HC category climbs from La Vuelta a España, the final Grand Tour of the cycling season.
The diagonal illustrates the 8.7% gradient of the climb from it’s starting point above sea level to the summit. Colours represent the rich man-made pastures and the Monumento Vaca Pasiega found at the summit.
Hors Catégorie (HC) is a term used in stage bicycle races to designate a climb that is “beyond categorisation”. The term was originally used for those mountain roads where cars were not expected to be able to pass.
